Christmas Jumper Day 2026: Information for Schools
Flexible Cashless & Cash Fundraising
To keep admin to a minimum for school offices, Save the Children offers flexible collection methods:
Digital (JustGiving): Set up a dedicated school fundraising page so parents and carers can donate directly online; and
Traditional Cash: Collect coins in class for a hands-on learning experience for younger pupils.
Four Steps to Get Started
Sign Up: Register your school or nursery on the Save the Children website to access your free digital resource kit;
Save the Date: Add Thursday 10th December 2026 to the school term dates;
Download Resources: Use the provided assembly packs and lesson plans during form time or PSHE; and
Go Secondhand: Encourage pupils and staff to reuse, swap, or decorate an existing jumper rather than buying new.
Fun School Fundraising Ideas
Looking to build extra engagement?
"Bling the Headteacher" / Staff Battle: Place donation buckets for staff members—the teacher with the most funds raised must wear the ultimate "outrageous" festive sweater for the day!
Festive Bake Sale: Host a breaktime cake sale organised by student councils or sixth-form leaders.
Jukebox Form Time: Pupils donate 50p to add their favourite festive track to the school radio or form playlist.

Mark your calendars! Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day returns on Thursday 10th December 2026 (or any alternative date that best fits your school calendar).
Since its launch in 2012, this beloved national event has raised over £42 million, with 26 million children and educators getting involved to support young people both in the UK and worldwide.
Why Take Part?
Christmas Jumper Day is a simple, high-impact way to foster community spirit while teaching pupils about global citizenship.
By taking part, your school helps support children facing hardship, climate change, and conflict. The suggested donation is £1 per pupil and £2 per adult, which directly funds vital initiatives:
UK Families: Provides supermarket vouchers to ensure children have the nutritious food they need to thrive and learn.
Global Impact: Funds drought-resistant crops for families affected by climate change in Kenya and safe healthcare for mothers and newborns in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
